Nigel Hasselbaink scored an 82nd-minute equaliser for St Johnstone as they restricted Celtic to a 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park this evening.
The SPL table toppers were dominant throughout the first period and Efe Ambrose gave them a deserved advantage with his second goal in as many games.
Hasselbaink netted a late leveller in the last meeting between the sides, which also ended 1-1, and did so again tonight - firing a long-range effort past Frazier Forster to deny Celtic a seventh straight league win.
However, Motherwell's home defeat to Dundee United means that the Bhoys extended their lead at the top of the division to 19 points.
Johnny Russell scored the only goal of the game as the Terrors claimed a surprise victory which moves them level on points with fifth-placed Kilmarnock.
