Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has revealed that he will make a decision on his side's captain for the 2015-16 campaign within the next few days.
Goalkeeper David Marshall was given the Bluebirds captaincy last season, but the South Wales side struggled for outfield leadership and will have to play the first three games of the new campaign without the Scottish international due to suspension.
With Cardiff's opening fixture against Fulham just over one week away, manager Slade is now considering his options for the armband.
"There is every chance David will be captain again, but we have to look at the situation," he told reporters.
"He is out for our opening Championship fixture against Fulham, plus two more games. Sean Morrison was captain against Watford and he has done it when Aron Gunnarsson has not been available. We will make a decision over the next few days."
Ben Turner and former Huddersfield Town captain Lee Peltier have also been mooted as potential candidates for the role.
