Cardiff City boss Russell Slade eyeing strong end to season

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade urges his side to maintain their recent run of good form until the end of the season following their 1-1 draw against Reading.

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is eyeing a strong end to the season after his side extended their unbeaten run to four matches with their 1-1 draw against Reading.

The Bluebirds fell behind to an early strike from Pavel Pogrebnyak, but Conor McAleny earned his side a point when he fired home in the 90th minute at the Madejski Stadium.

"All in all, it was a very tight game," Slade told Sky Sports News. "There wasn't much in it throughout. We started well enough but our marking for the goal was disappointing.

"I thought we grew into the game and we kept going. We stayed in it and it was really worth it when we got that late goal. Conor took it so early and made it very difficult for their keeper to get across. It was a really good finish.

"We want to try to keep the momentum going until the end of the season. And I think we're achieving that at the moment. We'd like to finish the season strongly. We're now more consistent and resilient."

Cardiff are 13th in the Championship table, with six games remaining in their campaign.
