The game produced very few chances early on, but Caen capitalised at the first opportunity in the 21st minute, as Feret caught hold of Ronny Rodelin's through-ball to push his side into a 1-0 advantage.
Troyes sought to hit straight back through Corentin Jean, but his long-range effort was expertly kept out by Caen stopper Remy Vercoutre, who was outstretched down at his bottom-right corner.
The save was to prove vital given that the hosts then went on to double their lead just before the break, this time as Ben Youssef broke loose from a corner to prod home inside the six-yard box.
Caen's lead looked to be threatened when goalscorer Ben Youssef was given a second yellow card in the 55th minute, but the visitors responded by notching a third through Bessat just seven minutes later.
Troyes were able to grab one back through Quentin Othon late on, but it proved to be a mere consolation as Caen cruised to all three points.
