Burnley boss Sean Dyche admits that he is delighted with Charlie Austin's failed transfer to Hull City.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that he is delighted with Charlie Austin's failed move to Hull City.

The 24-year-old striker, who scored 28 goals last season, was expected to join the Premier League club earlier this month, but the transfer was called off amid fears over his fitness.

"From my point of view, I'm delighted," Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"He's a solid boy and it is not the biggest hardship, if you've come from playing for Poole Town, working on a building site.

"We're still letting the dust settle, we want to get him doing what he does best, enjoy his football and score some goals."

Austin joined Burnley from Swindon Town in 2011.
