Gus Poyet insists that teams are deploying ultra-defensive tactics against Brighton because of their strong home form.

Brighton manager Gus Poyet has admitted that he is frustrated with the defensive tactics deployed by away teams visiting the Amex.

Poyet's side trailed Ipswich Town on Tuesday before finding a late equaliser from Will Buckley to earn a 1-1 draw.

The Uruguayan told Sky Sports News that his side must adjust to being forced to break down teams who sit deep in home matches.

Poyet said: "I'm starting to think everybody is rating us higher than we are. They rate us as a top team in this division and come here with a plan, to nick a goal and defend.

"That makes us put in all the effort. It becomes all about us and you need quality for that. But we need to get used to that because it is going to be the plan for every team that comes to the Amex.

"I can't ask for more. We took risks, we played with one defender and went for the win. It worked for Birmingham and it nearly worked for Ipswich, so credit to them."

Brighton dropped to third in the Championship table with the draw against Ipswich, two points behind new leaders Cardiff City.
