Sam Baldock: 'Brighton & Hove Albion not looking at Championship table'

Brighton striker Sam Baldock insists that his side are not paying any attention to the league table despite climbing top with victory over Leeds.

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Sam Baldock has insisted that his side are paying no attention to the current Championship table despite moving top with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United this evening.

Penalties from Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed gave the Seagulls all three points at the Amex in a match that saw Leeds reduced to 10 men after just 23 minutes when Kalvin Phillips was shown a straight red card.

Newcastle United have the chance to regain their place at the summit when they host Birmingham City tomorrow afternoon, but Baldock stressed that Brighton are only focusing on their own results.

"We are not even looking at the league table. It's nothing really," he told Sky Sports News.

"The sending-off made the game harder as they kept their shape, were resolute and hard to break down. We will keep half an eye on other results but we are focusing on ourselves."

Brighton are now unbeaten in their last 14 Championship outings since September 10.
