A report says that Lee Clark is keen for Wade Elliott to sign a new contract amid reports of interest from Bournemouth.

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has reportedly instructed the club's board to offer Wade Elliott a new contract.

The 34-year-old's current deal is due to expire in the summer, which if no agreement is reached, would make him available for a free transfer.

However, Clark has been impressed with Elliott's versatility and would like to keep him at St Andrew's for at least another season, according to Sky Sports News.

The Blues may face competition from Bournemouth, who are said to be keen on signing Elliott for a second time.

Elliott made over 200 appearances during his first stint with the Cherries that was brought to an end in 2005.
