Eddie Howe signs new Bournemouth contract

Bournemouth confirm that Eddie Howe has signed a contract extension at the club.

Eddie Howe has committed to extend his stay at Bournemouth by agreeing terms on a fresh deal.

The 37-year-old has guided the Cherries to three promotions across two separate spells, including last season's memorable Championship-winning campaign.

As well as officially being Bournemouth's most successful ever boss, Howe's previous achievements on the South Coast led to him being crowned the Football League's Manager of the Decade earlier this year.

A clause in the ex-Burnley chief's contract ensured that negotiations would be triggered upon promotion to the top flight, and owner Maxim Demin admits that he is delighted to have now got a deal in place.

"Eddie and I have a very close relationship, we speak everyday and we trust each other implicitly when making decisions that affect the football club," he told the club's official website.

"The mutual respect we have for each other has helped create a unique bond at the top of the club and has acted as the foundation for all of our recent successes.

"Together we have managed to achieve a great deal in a short space of time, and I have complete faith in Eddie and his management team to establish AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League over the coming seasons."

Bournemouth have begun their maiden Premier League campaign with two wins, two draws and four defeats from their opening run of fixtures.
