Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie has described himself as "excited" upon learning that his side have been paired with Portsmouth in the opening round of next season's League Cup.
The 23-year-old rose through the ranks at Fratton Park but failed to establish himself at his boyhood club and was eventually sold to Swindon Town in 2011.
"Obviously I'm excited being a Pompey fan and growing up in the area," he told BBC Radio Solent. "It's a great draw for me personally but also the club.
"When we played them in the league last season it was a great atmosphere and I'm sure it will be again.
"It's a derby so it'll be a tough test but I'm sure if we're at the races we'll be fine."
