Yann Kermorgant has scored a first-half double on his full Bournemouth debut to give them a 2-0 lead after 45 minutes of dominance over Doncaster Rovers.
The January signing from Charlton Athletic had previously made four substitute appearances for the Cherries without finding the net.
However, Eddie Howe preferred him in attack to club-record signing Tokelo Rantie and Kermorgant repaid his manager with two goals which put Bournemouth on course to end a four-match winless run.
He had earlier been denied by Donny keeper Sam Johnstone, while the hosts also came close through Andrew Surman and Ryan Fraser, before Ian Harte provided the striker with his maiden Cherries goal.
Kermorgant converted the former Republic of Ireland international's cross from the left on 26 minutes, and was grateful for more good service from the flanks when he headed in a 44th-minute second.
Doncaster failed to have a shot on target, or even a corner, in the first period on the South Coast.
