Naldo secures point as Wolfsburg frustrate Borussia Dortmund

Naldo scores a late equaliser as Borussia Dortmund are once again denied victory in an enthralling 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg.

Naldo headed in a late equaliser as Wolfsburg claimed a 2-2 draw in a dramatic clash with Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park this evening.

A bright start from Wolfsburg should have been rewarded with a goal, but Kevin De Bruyne could only fire wide after seeing Mitchell Langerak make a fine save to keep out his initial effort.

Dortmund took full advantage to take the lead in a frantic opening to the game as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted from Ciro Immobile's inviting cross.

Wolfsburg continued to look comfortable in possession after falling behind, and they cancelled out Aubameyang's opener before the half-hour mark.

It was De Bruyne who made up for his earlier miss by curling a free kick past a helpless Langerak from the edge of the box.

Immobile should have put the hosts back in front before the break when he latched on to a long ball forward, but Diego Benaglio was off his line quickly to keep out the Italian forward.

Langerak was forced into action again after the break to deny Vierinha after the Wolfsburg attacker had evaded a couple of challenges in a congested box.

Dortmund then enjoyed an extended spell on top, with Benaglio denying Immobile once again shortly before Mats Hummels fired a deflected effort just past the post.

Immobile's direct approach continued to cause problems for the Wolfsburg defence, but his end product disappointed once again when he dragged a shot past the post after sprinting into space.

However, the former Torino striker would find the target when he collected a pass from Oliver Kirch before firing past Benaglio to hand Dortmund a late advantage.

Wolfsburg refused to be beaten, though, and they earned a point in the 85th minute when Naldo headed in from a Ricardo Rodriguez corner.
