Bolton boss Owen Coyle has insisted that he holds Gary Cahill in such regard that the England defender "can play for anybody".
Coyle has also admitted that talks are ongoing between the club and Chelsea, but expects Cahill to remain focused until the January window.
"Gary Cahill, I believe, can play for anybody. He has those qualities, what January brings, it will bring," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"There's nothing to say it's sealed at the moment, but it is fair to say there has been dialogue here and there."
Bolton continue their league campaign against Newcastle on Monday afternoon.
