Danny Murphy happy to stay at Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Danny Murphy says that he is happy to stay at the club next season, once the outfit sorts out its managerial situation.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Danny Murphy has said that he is happy to stay at the club next season, once the managerial situation is sorted.

After the departures of Steve Kean, Henning Berg and Michael Appleton this season, Gary Bowyer is currently in caretaker charge of the Ewood Park outfit.

Blackburn are not yet assured of their safety in the Championship and Murphy has admitted that avoiding relegation will be influential to whether players stay at the club next season.

"We need stay in the division and then depending on who the new manager is and how the club is going to move forward will decide what certain players do - myself included," Sky Sports News quotes Murphy as saying.

"I've got another year left on my contract, I'm happy to stay and try to build a promotion push next season. The way Gary and Terry [McPhillips] have gone, I would personally leave them in charge.

"They know the club, they care about the club and you can't argue with what they've done in the 10 or 11 games they've been in charge."

Murphy has made 35 appearances for Blackburn this season, scoring twice.
