Matthias Sammer 'Mario Gotze will stay at Bayern Munich'

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer dismisses speculation that Mario Gotze will leave this summer.

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has dismissed rumours that Mario Gotze could leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Earlier this week, Gotze was reported to have said that he wanted Bayern boss Pep Guardiola to communicate with him more, but Gotze later insisted that his words had been misinterpreted.

Despite the speculation over Gotze's future, Sammer believes that the 23-year-old will stay to fight for his place.

Sammer told reporters: "Mario has a contract for another two years, he knows the situation here. I expect him to push through and to show the will to push through here. He wants that. Do not forget he still is a very young player."

The German international made 32 appearances for the Bundesliga champions last season, scoring ten goals.
