Medhi Benatia open to Bayern Munich departure

Bayern Munich centre-back Medhi Benatia insists that he would be prepared to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.

Medhi Benatia has insisted that he would have no problem leaving Bayern Munich if he were deemed surplus to requirements at the end of the season.

Bayern's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels has led to speculation that Benatia could be sold at the end of the campaign as Carlo Ancelotti prepares to take control of first-team affairs.

Former Roma defender Benatia has said that his current focus is on ending the season with Bayern, but has refused to rule out the possibility of a move amid talk of interest from Juventus.

"Hummels? He is a great player and would be welcomed here. In my case, if I have to leave Bayern at the end of this season, then I will leave," Benatia told Sky Sport Italia. "I will not do it like the managerial staff, who spoke about transfer rumours before an important game like the semi-finals of the Champions league [against Atletico Madrid].

"I am only thinking on finishing the season well and I want to live great emotions. I am talking about the Champions League, the Bundesliga title and the German Cup. In a player's career, it is important to live these moments."

The 29-year-old Moroccan international has made 20 appearances for Bayern this season.
