Thiago Alcantara delighted with "wonderful goal"

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is delighted with his first strike for the club, which earned all three points against Stuttgart.

Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Thiago Alcantara has revealed his delight at his injury-time acrobatic volley that earned his side all three points in a battling 2-1 win at Stuttgart on Wednesday night.

The goal was Thiago's first for the side he joined last summer, and the player admitted that it was a very hard game against a high-pressing Stuttgart team.

"We tried to get this win right to the very end," he told Bundesliga.com. "It was fantastic to score such a wonderful goal. I think teams tend to give their all when they play against Bayern and do everything to get a win.

"Stuttgart have a very strong team and made life very difficult for us, but this was a great chance to extend our lead over the teams in second and third, and we managed to take it."

Bayern moved 13 points clear at the top of the table with the win.
