Jurgen Klopp: 'Bayern Munich are the beat team in the world'

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp admits that Bayern Munich are the best team in the world, but still hopes to beat them to some silverware this season.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich are the "best team in the world" at the moment.

Bayern swept all before them in domestic and European action last season, while they look likely to repeat that feat this campaign with a first-leg advantage in their Champions League last-16 tie with Arsenal and a 19-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table with just 12 games remaining.

However, while Klopp admits that the league is now beyond his side, he still hopes to be able to pick up some silverware, be it in the Champions League or the DFB-Pokal.

"We don't have a chance in the league any more. But why would we write off our chances in the other two competitions before we've been knocked out?" Klopp told FIFA's official website.

"We're strong when we have everyone fit, and even when we don't have everyone fit we still have the desire. We've proved that and that's why we're in a relatively good position. We want to make the most of it.

"Bayern Munich are the best team in the world at the moment, and unfortunately they play in the Bundesliga, so we're up against them all the time."

Dortmund will take on Zenit St Petersburg in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday, while they will face Wolfsburg in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal in April.
