Marco Silva: 'Bayern Munich are the strongest team in the world'

Marco Silva says that Olympiacos must "work hard until the end" if they are to claim a positive result against Bayern Munich in their Champions League meeting.

Olympiacos manager Marco Silva has said that Bayern Munich are the "strongest team in the world" as his side prepares to face the Germans in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Greek champions need a single point from their meeting with the Bundesliga giants to progress to the knockout stage of the tournament, but they were handed a 3-0 defeat when the teams last played on the opening matchday.

"We arrive with the same feelings we had when we arrived in London to play Arsenal but Bayern are a stronger team than Arsenal, perhaps the strongest team in the world, actually," Silva told reporters.

"Bayern were always the favourites in the group. No one would have predicted that Olympiacos would be second after four games and anyone who sees that Olympiacos have nine points would be optimistic.

"The position we are in is a result of the work that we have done. I am proud of the position of the team and the recognition we have received from all over the world. Of course, we will work hard until the end to try to get something here in Munich."

Olympiacos have made it out of the group stage in the Champions League four times in their history.
