Jerome Boateng: Bayern Munich "made the most" of red card

Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng admits that the side "made the most" of Shakhtar Donestk's red card in the second leg of their Champions League tie.

Jerome Boateng has admitted that Bayern Munich "made the most" of an early red card for Shakhtar Donetsk to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Oleksandr Kucher was sent off less than three minutes in, conceding a penalty to give the German side the opening goal in their 7-0 win at the Allianz Arena.

The midfielder, who scored the second goal of the match, told the UEFA website: "From the beginning we concentrated, were aggressive and therefore we led quickly. The red card was an advantage, then we made the most of it."

Bayern are through to the last eight without having conceded at home in the competition this season.
