Everton are reportedly preparing to make a move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
The Nigeria international's current deal with Leicester is due to expire at the end of June, and it is widely thought that he will leave the Foxes on a free transfer despite the club's return to the Premier League.
According to Football Insider, Everton are keen on Ndidi and are set to make an approach for the 27-year-old when his contract at the King Power Stadium officially expires.
Barcelona are believed to have a long-standing interest in Ndidi, but the Catalan outfit are not thought to be planning to make an approach for him this summer.
The midfielder made 36 appearances for Leicester during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring six goals and registering six assists in the process.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian has represented the Foxes on 273 occasions in all competitions, with 192 of those matches taking place in the top flight of English football.

Ipswich 'to rival West Ham for Greaves'
Staying in the Premier League, Ipswich Town have allegedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign Hull City defender Jacob Greaves during the summer transfer window.
West Ham are said to be pressing to sign the 23-year-old, who scored twice and registered four assists in 43 Championship appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.
However, according to Football Insider, Ipswich, who have secured a return to the Premier League for the 2024-25 season, are rivalling the Hammers for his signature.
The report claims that discussions over a move to West Ham have stalled, which has opened the door for Ipswich to step up their interest.
Greaves came through the youth system at Hull, and he has represented the Tigers on 212 occasions in all competitions.
The defender spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Cheltenham Town in League Two but has since been a vital player for Hull, with his breakthrough coming in 2020-21.
