Report: Xavi close to Al Sadd move

A report claims that Barcelona midfielder Xavi will join Al Sadd after the World Cup this summer.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi will reportedly join Al Sadd after the World Cup this summer.

The Spanish international, who is currently with his country in Brazil, is widely expected to depart the Catalan outfit this summer as he enters the latter stages of his career.

Talk of a move to the Premier League has been mentioned, but according to BeIN Sports, Qatari side Al Sadd have made the 34-year-old a lucrative offer, which the veteran is close to accepting.

Al Sadd are in the market for a high-profile signing this summer with former Spanish international Raul expected to join the New York Cosmos.
