Ajax's £70m-rated midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reportedly agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain after snubbing a move to Barcelona.
The in-demand Dutchman has attracted interest from a number of European football's heavyweight clubs thanks to his displays for Ajax over the past couple of seasons.
Barca appeared to be the frontrunners to sign the 21-year-old after allegedly sending sporting director Eric Abidal to personally meet with the youngster in Amsterdam, but Paris United suggests that PSG have won the race.
A separate report in Mundo Deportivo adds that De Jong's agent pushed his client towards joining the Parisians as it offered him a bigger payday.
Barca have also been frustrated in their pursuit of fellow Ajax ace Matthijs de Ligt, who has a pick of clubs to choose from should he depart his home country in the summer.
