Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui has played down suggestions that he is on the verge of signing a contract with Barcelona.
The 24-year-old will leave Ajax on a free transfer at the end of June, and Barcelona are believed to be the favourites to secure his signature ahead of other interested parties AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
However, the Morocco international has said that "nothing has been completed" with the Catalan giants at this stage of proceedings.
"Nothing has been completed yet with Barcelona, not even nearly. Otherwise I'd be honest," Mazraoui told RTL7 when asked about the recent reports.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Xavi's side have offered Mazraoui a deal worth €5m (£4.2m) a year including add-ons to make the move to Camp Nou.
Romano claims that Barcelona are 'confident' of securing the defender's signature despite being aware of a host of other interest in his services.
The Moroccan has again been an important player for Ajax during the 2021-22 campaign, making 30 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and four assists in the process.
