Barcelona are reportedly regarded as the favourites to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves this summer.
The Portugal international, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, has established himself as a key player at Molineux since his arrival in 2017.
However, unless the 25-year-old extends his contract past 2024 over the coming months, there is increasing expectation that he could take on a new challenge ahead of 2022-23.
According to The Athletic, Barcelona has emerged as the most likely destination for Neves with discussions already said to have taken place between intermediaries.
While it is unclear whether Barcelona would be able to meet Wolves' asking price for arguably their best player, the two clubs have a strong working relationship with deals having been conducted for Nelson Semedo, Francisco Trincao and Adama Traore over the past two years.
Nevertheless, the report adds that Wolves are attempting to agree fresh terms with Neves, who is known to be settled in Wolverhampton.
