Napoli have confirmed that they are interested in signing Maxime Gonalons from Lyon during the January transfer window.
The Italian outfit have been linked with the captain of Les Gones over the past few months, and the player himself admitted that the idea of a switch to Naples got his attention.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli president, revealed that the club are looking to make three high-profile additions during the winter window, but ruled out one of them being Barcelona's Javier Mascherano.
"Gonalons? His is a profile that may be of interest to us," De Laurentiis told Sky Sports News. "Mascherano? I can rule that out. We're not interested in him."
Gonalons was also linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer.
