David Villa leaves Barcelona for Atletico Madrid

Barcelona striker David Villa has agreed to join Atletico Madrid this summer.

The 31-year-old Spanish international is believed to have cost Atletico around €5.1m (£4.3m).

The forward had recently been linked with a switch to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

Villa signed for Barca from Valencia in the summer of 2010 for around £34m and went on to score 43 goals for the club.
