Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are said to be keen to improve their midfield options next year, having missed out on a move for Georginio Wijnaldum over the summer, with the Dutchman joining Paris Saint-Germain from Liverpool.
Barcelona are believed to be keen on AC Milan's Franck Kessie but could miss out a deal for the Ivory Coast international due to the significant interest in his services.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Ronald Koeman's side have now set their sights on Zakaria, who could leave his current side on a free transfer next June.
As it stands, the Switzerland international would be free to enter into discussions with foreign clubs at the start of 2022, and it seems unlikely that he will be penning a new deal at Monchengladbach.
Zakaria has scored twice and registered one assist in five Bundesliga appearances this season, and the midfielder is also believed to be attracting the attention of Roma, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.
