Barcelona have reportedly retained an interest in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly during the summer transfer window.
With Andreas Christensen due to arrive at Camp Nou from Chelsea, it has been perceived that the Catalan giants may focus on other areas of the pitch.
However, according to AS, Xavi is eager to bring in Koulibaly, who has just over one year remaining on his contract in Naples.
The report suggests that Barcelona are already at an advanced stage with regards to personal terms, offering the Senegal international a contract until 2026.
Napoli are yet to be convinced to sell one of their star men, however, with their asking price said to be set at £34m.
Given Barcelona's financial situation and Koulibaly turning 31 years of age in June, the Spanish outfit are unlikely to be willing to meet those demands.
