Barcelona will be without centre-back Thomas Vermaelen for the next two weeks due to a hamstring injury picked up during the 5-0 win over Real Betis at the weekend.
The Belgium international hobbled down the tunnel late on in the first half to be replaced by Samuel Umtiti, who had himself just returned from a seven-week layoff.
Vermaelen underwent tests on Monday afternoon and it has been revealed that he can expect to spend a fortnight on the sidelines, ruling him out of Copa del Rey and La Liga games against Espanyol, as well as a league meeting with Alaves in between.
"FC Barcelona's medical services have confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen has a hamstring injury in his left leg and tests on Monday have ascertained that the Belgian defender will be out for around two weeks," a club statement read.
Barca boss Ernesto Valverde had used the former Arsenal defender in each of his side's last 13 outings.
