Lionel Messi: 'Paris Saint-Germain cannot win Champions League this season'

Lionel Messi believes that Paris Saint-Germain will need time to compete against the bigger clubs in the Champions League.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi believes that Paris Saint-Germain are not strong enough to win the Champions League at the moment.

The 25-year-old does think that Carlo Ancelotti's side can win Ligue 1, however.

"I don't know whether PSG already have the means to challenge the big teams in the Champions League this season," the Argentine told France Football.

"I think that they can win the Ligue 1 title with all the players who can be decisive. But it takes time to build a team.

"Their situation reminds me a bit of Manchester City. It's not easy to build a team when you have players coming from all corners of the world."

PSG are currently second in the Champions League Group A with six points from three matches, three points behind leaders Porto.
