Wolverhampton Wanderers complete the permanent signing of Jonny from Atletico Madrid for a club record-equalling £18m deal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the permanent signing of Jonny from Atletico Madrid for a club record-equalling fee of £18m.

Jonny has been on loan at Molineux since last summer, and he has now put pen to paper on a permanent deal which will keep him at the club until 2023.

The 24-year-old has made 22 appearances for Wolves so far this season, helping the promoted outfit to sit seventh in the Premier League table.

Jonny's form at Molineux earned him a maiden Spain cap in October, and he has since gone on to win three international appearances.

The full-back leaves Atletico without playing a single game for the club, having immediately joined Wolves on loan after signing from Celta Vigo last summer.

Jonny's £18m transfer fee equals the amount they paid Middlesbrough for Adama Traore in July.
