Adrian Lopez resumes Atletico Madrid training

Adrian Lopez is now fit to return to first-team training with Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid have been boosted by the news that Adrian Lopez is now fit to return to first-team training with the Spanish outfit.

The 25-year-old, who had been linked with a move away from the club in the summer, was forced to undergo facial surgery after a clash in Atletico's Champions League game against Zenit St Petersburg last month.

It had been expected that the injury would keep him out until November, but Football Espana have confirmed that the Spaniard is now free to resume first-team training.

Adrian joined Atletico from Deportivo La Coruna in 2011, but managed just three goals in the league last season.
