Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has admitted that he will have to 'work hard' to secure a spot in the Spain squad for next summer's World Cup.
La Roja have not yet mathematically qualified for the competition, but are overwhelming favourites to secure their spot in Brazil with upcoming qualification matches against Belarus and Georgia.
Koke is a part of the latest squad, but he insists that he is taking nothing for granted as he attempts to secure his spot in the team.
"I see before me now two important matches to qualify. At the same time there remains a lot of time and I will have to have done very well if I am to have a chance of going," he told reporters at a press conference.
"My position? I will play where the coach will put me and where I can help. He has seen me play at right-back and I have to try and help.
"It is a huge compliment to have coach tell you that you are doing good things, it is something that keeps you working with enthusiasm and excitement."
Koke has operated at right-back for Spain in recent months.
