Paul Lambert has declared that he is delighted with the signing of Dutch international centre-back Ron Vlaar.
Vlaar signed a three-year deal at Villa Park, joining from Feyenoord for a fee in the region of £4m.
Lambert believes that Vlaar has the attitude and ability required to succeed in the Premier League.
The Villa manager said: "Ron is a really good defender and he has a wealth of experience for both Holland and a big football club in Feyenoord, so I'm delighted we have got him here to Villa.
"I like the way the guy wants to do well. He's hungry and he wants to succeed.
"He's also a really good, strong defender and hopefully we will get the benefit of him in our team."
Vlaar will replace James Collins, who signed for West Ham United earlier this week, at centre-back for Villa.
