Aston Villa's pursuit of former Lyon manager Remi Garde is reportedly in doubt due to a dispute over backroom staff.
The former Arsenal player become an early frontrunner for the job following the sacking of Tim Sherwood on Sunday.
According to Sky Sports News, talks are underway between Garde and the Premier League club, but the move has hit a snag over coaching personnel.
It is believed that the Frenchman wants Lyon assistant coach Gerald Baticle to join him at Villa Park, but the Ligue 1 outfit have refused to give permission for talks.
Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has also been touted as a potential candidate for the job.
