Monaco announce that midfielder Joao Moutinho has penned a new two-year contract at the club.

Midfielder Joao Moutinho has decided to commit his future to Monaco until 2020.

Moutinho had less than six months remaining on his existing deal at Stade Louis II, and interested clubs had been in a position where they could open negotiations with the Portuguese international.

However, the Ligue 1 outfit have announced that the 31-year-old has opted to extend his stay at the club until 2020.

Moutinho made the switch to Monaco in 2013 and since then, he has scored 11 goals in 211 appearances in all competitions.

The former Porto man remains a regular with Portugal too, earning 107 caps since his debut in 2005.
