Arsenal will reportedly have to fend off competition from Real Madrid to secure the signature of Real Sociedad attacker Alexander Isak.
Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified the Sweden international as a top alternative to Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, who is understood to be closing in on a move to Juventus.
Isak's reported £75m release clause could supposedly hinder Arsenal's chances of striking a January deal, but the Gunners are not alone in the race for the 22-year-old.
According to Fichajes, Los Blancos will attempt to move for Isak in the summer if deals for Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe do not come to fruition.
The report adds that the strong relationship between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad will work in Los Blancos' favour, and Carlo Ancelotti would also give the green light for a deal.
Isak has only bagged four goals in 18 La Liga appearances this season, and the former Borussia Dortmund man is contracted to Sociedad until the summer of 2026.
