Roberto Mancini is preparing a £30m bid to bring Robin van Persie to the Etihad Stadium this summer, according to reports.
The Manchester outfit are understood to be willing to offer to more than double Van Persie's wages from £80,000 to £200,000 a week as he enters the final 18 months of his contract at the Emirates, according to The Sun.
Mancini is believed to be confident that he will land his man, who has won a single piece of silverware since arriving at Arsenal over six seasons ago.
Meanwhile, Van Persie is on the verge of breaking Alan Shearer's Premier League record of 36 goals scored in 12 months, with 33 so far in 2011.
