Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas: 'Alexandre Lacazette will stay'

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says that Jean-Michel Aulas will stay at the club this season, despite interest from Arsenal.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted that Alexandre Lacazette will remain at the club this season, despite being linked to Arsenal.

The Gunners are believed to be keen to recruit a new forward, but failed earlier this summer when they tried to lure Jamie Vardy from Leicester City.

Arsenal had a £29.3m bid for Lacazette rejected by the French club in July, which is less than half of Lyon's rumoured £60m asking price.

According to the London Evening Standard, when asked about the striker's future, Aulas said: "Lacazette will stay with us."

The 25-year-old scored five goals in his first two games of the season.
