Hector Bellerin has reportedly been told by Arsenal's majority shareholder Stan Kroenke that he is staying at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite recently signing a long-term deal with the club, Bellerin has been strongly linked with a return to Barcelona, where he spent part of his youth career.
However, according to Cadena SER, Kroenke phoned the right-back to say that he expected his new contract to be honoured.
Barcelona were said to be confident of eventually securing the signature of the Spanish international at some point in the transfer window, but it now appears that they must target other players to fill what has proven to be a troublesome position.
Bellerin has made a total of 115 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, while he is seen as an important figure on the right-hand side by manager Arsene Wenger, especially after the Gunners' switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation.
