Athletic Bilbao 'consider move for Nacho Monreal'

Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Nacho Monreal, with Athletic Bilbao said to be interested.

Ahtletic Bilbao are considering a bid for Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal, according to reports.

The left-back started in Arsenal's FA Cup triumph over Aston Villa yesterday, but the 29-year-old's contract will expire next summer.

Monreal has made wage demands which the Gunners are unlikely to accept, , according to AS, meaning that Arsene Wenger is willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard.

Bilbao have reportedly contacted Arsenal to see if they would sell Monreal for a fee much smaller than the £8m that they paid Malaga for the defender's services in 2013.

Monreal is said to be happy in London, but may be tempted if Bilbao can match the €3m that he currently earns per season with the Gunners.
