Arsenal have reportedly identified Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara as a possible summer signing with the club looking at alternatives to Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with Thomas and Aouar over the last few weeks, but it remains to be seen whether the Premier League club can agree a deal with either Atletico Madrid or Lyon.
According to football.london, Mikel Arteta's side are eyeing alternatives to the pair, and the club's technical director Edu views Diawara as an ideal signing in the current market.
The 23-year-old's agent Daniele Piraino recently claimed that Arsenal were interested in signing his client, who only joined Roma from Napoli last summer, penning a five-year contract upon his arrival.
Diawara made 31 appearances for I Giallorossi during the 2019-20 campaign, contributing one goal and one assist in the process.
The Gunners have started their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with back-to-back wins over Fulham and West Ham United.
