Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is a £45m summer transfer target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The 26-year-old has been in impressive form for his Spanish club this season and again caught the eye with his performance in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners will consider moving for the Ghana international in this summer's transfer window with the midfielder having a release clause of £45m.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta is determined to bring a new defensive midfielder to the club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign and has identified Thomas as the ideal signing.

The 27-time international made his first-team debut for Atletico in 2015 and has since appeared on 174 occasions for the Spanish giants, scoring 15 times in the process.

Arsenal are also allegedly interested in signing RB Leipzig attacker Marcel Sabitzer this summer but will seemingly face competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
