Arsenal have reportedly agreed to pay a club record fee of £23m for Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentina international will undergo a medical at the Emirates Stadium on Friday before the move is finalised, according to The Sun.
Higuain is allegedly on the brink of signing a three-year contract worth £100,000 a week after being given permission to fly to London by Real.
Following the completion of the deal, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been tipped to make firm offers for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
Arsenal's previous record transfer fee was the £16.5m they paid for Santi Cazorla from Malaga last summer.
