Arsene Wenger says that Mikel Arteta brings out the "best" in his fellow Arsenal teammates.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Mikel Arteta can provide enough quality to help the Gunners push for third place in the Premier League.

The North London side are currently in fourth position, just one point adrift of their fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Wenger has paid compliment to Spanish midfielder Arteta, who moved to the Emirates from Everton last summer.

"Mikel is a winner, a fighter as well," said Wenger. "He possesses both aspects of the game of a real midfielder, that means he can defend and he can attack.

"He is a quiet hero for us because he always gives you a certain level of quality. He is always 100% focused and committed. He brings the best out of other players."

Arteta will return to his former club this evening as Arsenal prepare to take on Everton at Goodison Park.
