Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed his side for a 'dominant' display today after they claimed a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates.
Mesut Ozil scored the only goal of the game with a superb first-half volley in a result that got the Gunners back to winning ways after back-to-back draws and saw them move up to fourth in the table.
"Overall we deserved to win - we had plenty of chances. In the final 10 minutes we became edgy. Overall, I feel we dominated," Wenger told Match of the Day. "It was physically difficult today after three games in six days.
"Ozil's goal was a gem of a goal. I'm happy for Mesut because that's what you want from him. He took it with decisiveness and it was a fantastic goal.
"The strange thing in our last games is that our displays have been good but we didn't win. That's why it's important to win today."
Next up for Wenger's side is a tough home encounter with Liverpool on Friday night.
