Arsene Wenger is hoping Thierry Henry will make an impact for Arsenal as a substitute this afternoon.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Thierry Henry is fit enough to start this afternoon's Premier League fixture away at Swansea City.

However, Wenger has opted to name the striker on the bench at the Liberty Stadium, choosing to use his impact on the match as a substitute.

"He works very hard and you have to give him time to recover, but he is ready to play," Wenger told Sky Sports News.

"I could have started him, but I have put him on the bench ready to come on."

Henry is currently on a two-month loan deal with the Gunners from New York Red Bulls.
