Brazilian football legend Pele: 'I'd rather play for Arsenal than Chelsea'

Brazilian football legend Pele says that he would rather play for Arsenal than Chelsea if given the choice.

Brazilian football legend Pele has admitted that if he were playing in the modern game, he would choose to join Arsenal over Chelsea.

The 74-year-old is widely regarded as the all-time greatest footballer after winning three World Cups, two Copa Libertadores titles and six Brazilian Serie A trophies with Santos.

When asked about today's Premier League heavyweights, Pele suggested that Arsenal's style of football is more attractive than Chelsea's.

"Arsenal is a good team to play for," Pele told The Telegraph. "I like the teams that play open football. Today it is difficult to decide which teams play that way.

"Barcelona are the closest in style to Santos and are almost the same style as Brazil in 1970. Between Chelsea and Arsenal? I would play for Arsenal if I had the chance."

Pele has previously been named FIFA Player of the Century.
