David Moyes believes that Asenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has started well at his new club.

Everton manager David Moyes has praised Mikel Arteta's start at Arsenal following his summer move from the Toffees.

Arteta, 29, has featured regularly for Arsenal this season, and his former boss believes the Gunners' style of football suits the Spanish midfielder perfectly.

"I've watched from the television, I've not seen him play live. But from what I have seen Mikel has played well. He played great for us and it looks as if he's giving a good contribution at Arsenal," Moyes told Sky Sports News.

"I think the style suits Mikel. He's on the ball plenty of times, getting lots of touches and he's having an influence on the game.

"From that point of view, he'll be revelling in the job he's got and what he's doing at Arsenal."

Arteta spent five years at Goodison Park and could come up against his old club this Saturday when Everton travel to the Emirates.
